CAN WE TALK? LOCAL MOMS SHARE EXPERTISE
Speaker Group Targets Moms for Seminar Series
(February 25, 2008 – Folsom, CA). Beginning this April, Sacramento area moms will benefit from a newly formed group and its inaugural speaker series. MomtoMom Productions’ Inaugural Speaker Series will launch this spring in Folsom and Roseville. Thirteen women, moms and professionals representing different industries such as education, law, medicine and fitness, are donating their time to educate moms about specific things they can do to keep their families healthy and protected.
Hosted in April and May at Bounceopolis in Folsom and Bounce U in Roseville, moms are invited to bring their kids to play while they learn relevant, accurate and reliable information that addresses the concerns of today’s mom. Seminars will be offered during weekday and weekend mornings and weekday evenings so stay at home moms and working moms can attend. Over 40 different sessions will be offered.
Sponsors include Jamba Juice, Sacramento Parent Magazine, Safeway, and Federated Insurance Company. Proceeds from the series will benefit Moment by Moment, a non-profit organization that provides complimentary photographic services to families with terminally ill children
Looking around your local coffee shop, park, or soccer field, you’ll find moms doing what comes natural to them– sharing expertise, anecdotes and the latest trends. Moms traditionally look to one another for advice and expertise – someone that’s been there, someone they can trust and identify with. That’s a community.
In today’s high tech world, moms look for advice on health and safety, finance, education, legal matters, and more on the internet. While convenient, who among us is not tired of tapping away on a keyboard, only to find impersonal answers that we are not sure are in the best interest of our families? Moms today are looking to get the personal connection back in the equation - to bring back the community!
Paula Allison, event chair, explains the MomtoMom Productions’ Seminars, “The idea for these seminars came about because I often speak to moms groups about estate planning. I have found these moms to be eager to learn about protecting their family. I realized I have other friends and colleagues, professionals and moms themselves, who could provide important information to moms. I thought it would be great to provide relevant information in a relaxed environment with childcare provided so moms could have fun, listen and connect with other moms. The bottom line is that for many of us moms, we turn first to fellow moms to look for advice on parenting, service providers and other resources. It’s the mom factor – you trust someone who has been in your shoes.”
Tickets are $15 each. Registration begins March 3 and more information regarding dates and times can be found at www.momtomomproductions.
